“Opie”

Love at first sight. Dena was 15 years old when she was driving down the road with her family and saw an Open GT with a “For Sale” sign on the side of the road.  Immediately, she knew he was the one.  She convinced her Dad to purchase the car 8 months before her 16th birthday.  Dena practiced driving a stick up and down the driveway until she was able to get her license and finally take him out on the road. 

Memories were made and as the years went by, Dena finally covered Opie up in 1989, storing him in her barn for several decades. As she approached her and Opie’s 50th birthday, Dena decided it was time to get Opie back on the road and started the restoration process. 

Dena took Opie to a shop where promises fell short and the project was hitting a few bumps in the road. Dena then brought the car to Motor City Solutions. 

This was a full build that began in 2022 and reached completion in 2024, just in time for a birthday cruise as well as a trip to the Detroit Autorama, where Opie received 1st for best in his class. The adventures of Dena and Opie continue as they have been enjoying numerous cars shows and cruises since leaving the shop.
